The current vision of cardiovascular epidemiology point up an ecological approach that incorporates the full range of biological, environmental, and social determinants of cardiovascular health across the life course. Major advances in the cardiovascular epidemiology over the last 4 decades have increased our understanding of the pathogenesis of CVD, with the identification and treatment of several major risk factors.
